Hannah RuxtonBariatric Patient Advocate
Hannah was born and raised in Southern Virginia, and recently moved down to Florida after living here previously when she was younger. Aside from being the biggest Disney fan there is and spending every weekend there with her family, she also has a strong passion for helping bariatric patients walk through their journey. She is a bariatric patient herself, and went through her own journey in 2019 after having the Sleeve Gastrectomy. She continues to be a success story for patients considering weight loss surgery. Hannah will meet with you during your initial consultation one-on-one to advocate for you, explain the insurance process, patient benefits, surgical criteria, and next steps in your journey to a new, healthier life!
Kelly RangeNurse Practitioner
Kelly was born and raised in St. Petersburg, Florida. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Florida State University. Kelly completed her Master of Science as a Nurse Practitioner from the University of South Florida. She worked with Dr. Huguet in the ICU and the surgical recovery unit for several years prior to becoming a nurse practitioner. Kelly provides education and support to bariatric patients and their families. She strongly believes that a holistic multidisciplinary approach to weight loss is the key to success. She serves as a coach and a warm heart for patients throughout their journey to weight loss. Kelly’s favorite part of nursing is helping patients reach their goals and celebrating together.
Carlee FreedPhysicians Assistant
Carlee was born and raised in West Palm Beach. She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of South Florida where she graduated cum laude majoring in Health Sciences. She graduated with a Master of Medical Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of South Florida. Carlee works with Dr. Huguet directly in surgery to assist with all bariatric operations. She sees patients during hospital rounds and outpatient clinics. She loves interacting with patients and looks forward to hearing about their progress as they follow up in the clinic. In her free time, Carlee enjoys being social with her friends and spending time with her cock-a-poo.
Shane MillerFitness Specialist
Shane Miller is the Fitness Specialist for St. Anthony’s Hospital. He consults with patients to understand their activity level to help them navigate their exercise goals safely and effectively through the entire weight loss surgery process. Mr. Miller’s favorite part of his role as Fitness Specialist is demonstrating the proper technique when performing specific movements. Mr. Miller received his Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology and Nutrition Science in 2016 from Whittier College in Southern California. He continues his passion for exercise through his daily routines, education, and certification.
Theresa Schlott, MS, RDN, LD/NLicensed Registered Dietitian-Nutritionist
Theresa Schlott, MS, RDN, LD/N, is a licensed registered Dietitian-Nutritionist who has spent many years teaching people of all ages about nutrition, realistic healthful eating, and setting personalized goals for wellness success. She’s a foodie who believes that what we eat should be delicious and should contribute to our desired positive health outcomes. Theresa holds a master’s degree from Texas Tech University, credentials as a Certified Diabetes Educator, and ServSafe Certification from the National Restaurant Association. Her latest personal challenge is using a solar box cooker to take advantage of Florida’s ample sunshine to cook her meals.
Dianna ThomasRegistered Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Educator
Dianna Thomas is a Registered Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Educator who often acts as a health navigator for those who wish to improve their health outcomes. After obtaining a M.S. Degree in Human Nutrition from Winthrop University, Dianna worked in hospitals, outpatient clinics, in corporate wellness and as a university instructor. Accomplishments include providing formal presentations for organizations such as the American Diabetes Assoc. and the Univ. of North Carolina, Charlotte and completing four half marathons. When she is not internet surfing health topics or working in nutrition, Dianna enjoys fixing up her "1920's relic of a home" and playing in the yard with her dogs.
Linda DeLorey, RD, LD/N, CDERegistered Dietitian
Linda DeLorey, RD, LD/N, CDE, is an experienced diabetes educator and registered dietitian with the Lifehelp Diabetes and Nutrition Center at St Anthony’s Hospital. Drawing on a diverse career in the nutrition field for over 25 years, Linda has a wide range of health, weight management, and diabetes knowledge. She is certified in Adult Weight Management with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Linda recognizes that each client she meets is unique and requires individual strategies to achieve success. Her nutrition philosophy focuses on self-empowerment and setting realistic goals for healthy eating.
Joseph Baum, Ph.D.Licensed Clinical Psychologist
Dr. Baum is a licensed clinical psychologist. He earned his doctorate in Clinical Psychology in 1988 from the University of South Florida. He has been assisting weight-loss patients to prepare and succeed with their weight-loss, health and lifestyle goals since 2002. Dr. Baum provides preoperative psychological consultations and follow up care to help ensure each patient has the necessary psychological resources and emotional support to achieve and sustain their health and new lifestyle goals.
